This field will always be special to me — it’s where I did my very first photo session, and it quickly became a favorite for so many of my clients. There’s something peaceful and nostalgic about it, like it holds a hundred quiet stories. The space is split into two areas: one side is lined with beautiful trees (perfect for soft, shaded light), and the other opens up to a wide field with a gorgeous hill in the background. It gives us so much variety in one spot, and the views never disappoint. This location is just a short drive from Abilene, Buffalo Gap offers beautiful open fields and golden evening light that make it a favorite spot for photo sessions.

Cal Young Park is one of those locations that truly works in every season — and it’s a favorite for a reason. Just a heads-up: the tall grass sometimes gets mowed, so it can vary depending on the season — but it’s always a gorgeous spot either way.
