It’s Not as Intimidating as You think.
So you’re curious about mentorships- but maybe you’re also wondering…
“What even happens during a mentorship session? Am I suppose to come prepared with a list of questions? Will it be awkward? Is it Just a Q&A? Will I feel behind?”
First of all: take a deep breath.
Mentorships is so much more than just technical tips and business talk. It’s a safe, encouraging space where you get to ask anything, dream big, and get real answers without judgement.
If you’ve ever wished you could sit down with someone and just talk about everything that’s been on your mind as a photographer- that’s what a mentorship is. So here’s a peak into what actually happens when we meet.
1. We Start With You
Every mentorship is personalized- because no two photographers are the same. Before we meet, I’ll ask you a few questions to get a feel for where’re at, what you’re struggling with, and what you’re hoping to walk away with.
Are you brand new and overwhelmed?
Been at this for a while but feeling stuck?
Trying to figure out your style, pricing, posing, or editing?
Whatever it is — we’ll start there.
2. We Talk (And I Listen)
This is where we dive in. We’ll chat like friends- get some coffee, bring your Dr. Pepper or your Alani if it’s one of those days. We will go over your questionnaire answers. I want to know what’s been on your mind as you build your photography journey. You can ask me anything- no question is too small or “silly.”
We’ll cover what matters most to you:
- Workflow & editing
- Posing & prompting
- Client communication
- Website or pricing feedback
- Burnout & creative blocks
- And yep, even how to get more inquiries
3. We Make It Practical
After we talk through your goals or roadblocks, I’ll help you come up with simple, realistic steps. I’ll share resources, tips, and things that have worked for me, so you’re not leaving with a million ideas but zero direction. After the session, you’ll receive a recap guide for you to look back on whenever you need to review topics.
And if we’re doing the mentorship + shoot option- we’ll head into a hands-on session where I show you how I direct, pose, good angles, and work with real clients. You get to watch, practice, ask questions, and walk away with experience (and content for your portfolio, too!).
4. You Leave Encouraged & Empowered
More than anything, I want you to leave our time together feeling lighter. Like you’ve got a better grasp on things. Like you’re not alone in the messy middle of figuring it all out.
Photography isn’t just about the photos- it’s about the people behind the lens. And you deserve support, not pressure. Encouragement, not comparison.
